James MacIntosh

Director of Security

James brings to Paladin over 40 years of law enforcement experience and training.

James served his entire career with the Houston Police Department (HPD), holding leadership roles in patrol, tactical, and Priority Investigations units. His responsibilities also included working many dignitary protection details, including regular escorts of former President George H.W. Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush. 

Prior to joining the private sector, as James honed his investigative and tactical skills on the streets of Houston as a Houston police officer, eventually working his way up to leadership roles in the Priority Investigations unit. His investigative prowess resulted in a combined 60+ Chief’s Commendations, Supervisor Commendations, and Officer of the Year awards.

James’s skillset includes criminal investigations, advanced tactical training, advanced firearms training, advanced driving training, crowd control and special events, threat assessment and terrorism, human behavior studies, and combat first-aid. His personnel management skills seamlessly translate to whatever team type he oversees, whether it be a brand-new team or an already-established team. 

Additional certifications that James holds includes Master Peace Officer/Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE ), Advanced Tactical Training, Patrol Carbine, Tactical Trauma and First-Aid, Special Response Group, Special Crimes Investigations, and TCOLE -certified Basic Instructor.

James holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from Mountain State University.
